About this frame

Winton is hand-made from thick-gauge iron. Its softly swept top rail bows between turned posts crowned with round ball finials, while slim, plain spindles carry small cast knobs — detailing shaped and cast in solid metal, never stamped from thin sheet. The low, open footboard repeats the line without crowding the room. Sprung timber slats and two adjustable heights make its quiet elegance genuinely liveable.

The Softly Swept Rail

Look along the top of the Winton and you'll find the detail that defines it: a top rail that doesn't run straight, but bows in a slow, graceful sweep between the posts. It's a subtle piece of hand-shaping — iron coaxed into a curve that catches the eye without ever demanding it. The same swept line returns on the footboard, so the frame reads as one considered gesture from head to foot. Round ball finials sit at each corner like full stops, and small cast knobs run along the spindles beneath. It's the kind of quiet craftsmanship you notice more the longer you live with it.

Crisp Detailed Finish

Every frame is made from thick-gauge steel, traditionally cast and welded the way iron beds were built to last — solid where cheap frames are thin, and finished by hand rather than pressed on a line. It's the difference between a bed you replace and one you keep for decades.

Simple, Solid Support

A slat base with nothing to wear out. Each frame comes with individual solid slats that drop straight into their own slots — no tools, no tension springs, nothing to crack or sag over time. It's support built the same way as the frame: simple, sturdy, and made to hold for decades.

Trusted since 1968

A cast iron bed is a decades-long decision — and so is the company you buy it from. We've been in the same family for over fifty years: long enough to watch trends come and go, and stubborn enough to keep building beds the way that lasts. When a bed is meant to outlive the room around it, it matters who stands behind it.
