About this frame

Some beds shout; the Islington simply sweeps. Its softly bowed top rail curves between two posts crowned with rounded finials, drawing the eye down over slim, evenly spaced spindles finished with small cast knobs, then echoed in a low, open footboard. Hand-made from thick-gauge iron and finished by hand, it arrives on sprung timber slats set at two adjustable heights — heirloom looks, built for real, everyday sleep.

All in the sweep

Look past the clean lines and everything about the Islington comes back to one detail: that gently swept top rail. Rather than sit flat or arch high, it bows in a soft, shallow curve between the two posts, giving the whole headboard a relaxed, almost hand-drawn grace. It's a shape that reads as calm rather than grand — the kind of quiet curve you notice a little more each time you walk into the room. Because it's formed from thick-gauge iron and finished by hand, the line stays crisp and true, not pressed from thin sheet. A small piece of geometry doing a lot of the emotional work.

Crisp Detailed Finish

Every frame is made from thick-gauge steel, traditionally cast and welded the way iron beds were built to last — solid where cheap frames are thin, and finished by hand rather than pressed on a line. It's the difference between a bed you replace and one you keep for decades.

Simple, Solid Support

A slat base with nothing to wear out. Each frame comes with individual solid slats that drop straight into their own slots — no tools, no tension springs, nothing to crack or sag over time. It's support built the same way as the frame: simple, sturdy, and made to hold for decades.

Trusted since 1968

A cast iron bed is a decades-long decision — and so is the company you buy it from. We've been in the same family for over fifty years: long enough to watch trends come and go, and stubborn enough to keep building beds the way that lasts. When a bed is meant to outlive the room around it, it matters who stands behind it.
