The Blake day bed is full of character, humor, and unexpected surprises. Blake's thicker frame, joints reminiscent of pipe fittings, and simple, balanced finials give it a sophisticated twist on a classic. Because the back is slightly higher than the sides, the iron bed design maintains visual interest and balance while keeping Blake's overall feel candid and to-the-point. This bed is made in the USA with quality far beyond any other cast bed that is available in Australia. The bed is pictured in Single Size with the Brass Bisque finish and in Single Size with the Pewter finish. Construction The bed is made from steel and features alloy castings throughout the design. Every join is either fully welded, or fully cast. All the cast fittings are cast from a mould that has been carefully carved out by hand. The molten metal is then poured into the mould to form the detailed shape and pattern that has been created. The frame supplied is extra strong and comes standard with a cross bar at the head and foot end and centre support rails. This construction gives the bed greater strength and stability in every day use and ensures that it will last a lifetime to become tomorrow's antique. So long as the bed is installed correctly you won’t experience any shaking or rattling . The paint is a powder coating that is electro-statically applied and baked at high temperature for durability. This means that the paint finish should never fade or chip. It also means that it is easily cared for with a just a damp cloth. Inclusions The bed is supplied as a complete bed, head end, foot end, side rails and slatted frame. Delivery Time 1-3 days if in stock, 12-14 weeks if out of stock.
