Last week I touched on the importance of "good old fashioned service". This week I thought that I would continue on a little with that and I have also included a little insight to the inner workings of our store and what we do to keep the doors open.

The Bedroom Mattress & Bedding Co. joined our family in 1984 as an existing business. The bedding store was actually established in 1968. This is always cause for animated discussion as to whether we should say 1968 or 1984 when questioned about when the business started. Either way it's the longest standing bedding business in Sydney and I would hazard a guess that we are the oldest in Australia.

The Bedroom is entirely run by our family with Kurt and Jo (mum and dad) in the store, Kurt Jnr is the web developer and manager, Tatiana is our content manager, Tommi works on graphic design and Daneke lends a hand in the warehouse (when she's not studying Dietetics). 

Just a few days ago, an email landed in my inbox, outlining a course for retailers set to take place in 2024. Skeptical as I usually am about marketing pitches, I took a moment to read through it. Surprisingly, the "three top tips on increasing sales and creating customer loyalty" resonated deeply, echoing the very principles that have guided our store's journey.

Honesty forms the cornerstone of our business ethos. While some may exploit our trusting nature, we've been around long enough to discern sincerity from opportunism. Our commitment to honesty not only builds trust but also sets the foundation for lasting relationships with our customers.
